What if I can’t find my insurance card?

It is important to present a current and active insurance card at the beginning of each of your dental appointments. If you are to lose your insurance card, please contact your insurance company and have them send you a new one. If you are unable to bring an insurance card, please be prepared to share all the information we will need to process a claim (i.e., Group Number, ID, Insurance plan, and claim’s address).

Why was my treatment not covered by my insurance?

If you have a question about what your insurance does or does not cover, you need to contact your Insurance Company. This phone number can usually by found on the back of your insurance card.

When do my dental insurance benefits renew or start over?

Every insurance plan and coverage are different. Sometimes it will be at the beginning of each new year and sometimes it will renew itself on the anniversary of your enrollment date. Please check with your insurance company to verify.

What is a Prior Authorization?

A prior authorization is paperwork that is sent to your insurance company the explains your proposed treatment. The paperwork requests an exact breakdown of coverage on the specific treatment plan that Twin Cities Dental has proposed. Patients can expect to wait 3-6 weeks to receive an exact breakdown. It is also important to note that the insurance company will mail both, Twin Cities Dental a copy as well as the patient.
